And within that darkness, she searched


As her lips parted to speak, her throat constricted


She treaded on, committed to keeping her heart open and feeling 


As she listened, the loneliness reached her lower lashes, threatening to flow past, and down the cheeks that carried her smiles, the smiles that carried her through the days


But this is what it was to feel, to be here, to let it heal


So as her eyes stared ahead, unseen hands enfolding her shoulders, still unable to take that deep exhale, but understanding that it would take time


Their comfort urged her to let the waves crash, let the water pull on to the shore and pull back into the sweeping sea

 

Let it flow, until you're able to step onto the sand yourself and leave it as the memory it was meant to be, the beauty you would eventually see
